Cancellation Policy

This Cancellation Policy outlines the terms and conditions for cancelling cruise bookings made through Cruiseline via phone consultation with our reservation specialists. As Cruiseline acts as an agent for various cruise lines and other travel suppliers ("Suppliers"), the specific cancellation terms for your booking are primarily governed by the policies of the respective Supplier.

Our Cruiseline cruise specialists will provide you with the detailed cancellation policy applicable to your specific cruise and fare type at the time of booking and in your booking confirmation documentation.

1. How to Cancel Your Booking

All cancellation requests must be made by directly calling our Cruiseline reservation team at 1-866-453-9023. Please have your booking reference number ready when you call.

Cancellations are not considered effective until they are acknowledged and confirmed by one of our cruise specialists. We may also require your cancellation request in writing (e.g., via email) for documentation purposes after your initial phone call, as per Supplier requirements.

It is your responsibility to ensure that we receive your cancellation request in a timely manner according to the Supplier's deadlines.

2. Cancellation Fees and Penalties by Suppliers

Cancellation fees and penalties are set by the Suppliers (e.g., cruise lines) and vary significantly based on several factors, including but not limited to:

  • The Specific Supplier: Each cruise line, airline, or hotel has its own cancellation schedule and fee structure.
  • Time of Cancellation: The closer to the departure date you cancel, the higher the cancellation penalty is likely to be. Most Suppliers have a tiered penalty system (e.g., penalties increase at 120+ days out, 90-119 days out, 60-89 days out, etc.).
  • Fare Type and Cabin Category: Promotional fares, "guarantee" cabins, early booking rates, or special offers often have more restrictive cancellation terms or may be entirely non-refundable. Suites or higher-tier cabins might also have different (often stricter) cancellation policies.
  • Length of Cruise/Trip: Longer voyages may have earlier penalty dates.

Example of a Tiered Penalty Structure (This is illustrative only and varies greatly by Supplier):

  • 120+ days before departure: Loss of deposit.
  • 90-119 days before departure: 25% of total cruise fare penalty.
  • 60-89 days before departure: 50% of total cruise fare penalty.
  • 30-59 days before departure: 75% of total cruise fare penalty.
  • 0-29 days before departure (or no-show): 100% of total cruise fare penalty (no refund).

Important: The exact penalty schedule applicable to your specific booking will be provided by your Cruiseline specialist and detailed in your booking confirmation from the Supplier.

3. Cruiseline Cancellation Service Fees

In addition to any cancellation fees or penalties imposed by the Supplier, Cruiseline may charge a per-person service fee for processing your cancellation request. This fee, if applicable, is non-refundable and will be communicated to you at the time of your cancellation request.

4. Non-Refundable Bookings

Certain cruise fares or components of your travel package (e.g., some airfares, pre-paid gratuities, special promotional items) are sold as "non-refundable." If you book such a fare or item, you will not be entitled to any refund if you choose to cancel, regardless of when the cancellation is made. Our specialists will clearly identify if any part of your booking is non-refundable at the time of purchase.

5. Changes to Bookings (Modifications)

Requests to change your booking (e.g., change sailing date, itinerary, ship, cabin category, or passenger names) may be treated as a cancellation and rebooking by the Supplier. This means that the Supplier's cancellation penalties for the original booking may apply, and the new booking will be subject to prevailing rates and availability at the time of the change. Cruiseline may also charge a service fee for processing changes. Our team can assist you with change requests over the phone.

6. No-Show Policy

If you fail to arrive for your scheduled cruise departure or any other booked travel component (a "no-show"), you will be considered to have cancelled on the day of departure/service, and you will forfeit the entire cost of that component. No refunds will be issued for no-shows.

7. Supplier's Role

Cruiseline facilitates your booking and cancellation requests according to the terms and conditions set forth by the Suppliers. All final decisions regarding cancellations, applicable penalties, and refunds (if any) rest with the Supplier.

8. Travel Insurance

Cruiseline strongly advises all our clients to purchase comprehensive travel insurance at the time of booking. Travel insurance can provide coverage for cancellation penalties due to unforeseen circumstances such as illness, injury, job loss, or other covered reasons as per the policy terms. This can help protect your financial investment. Our specialists can provide information on travel insurance options.

9. Force Majeure

Neither Cruiseline nor its Suppliers shall be liable for any failure to perform, or delay in performance of, any of our obligations under a booking that is caused by an event outside our reasonable control ("Force Majeure Event"). A Force Majeure Event includes any act, event, non-happening, omission or accident beyond our reasonable control and includes in particular (without limitation) strikes, lock-outs or other industrial action; civil commotion, riot, invasion, terrorist attack or threat of terrorist attack, war (whether declared or not) or threat or preparation for war; fire, explosion, storm, flood, earthquake, subsidence, epidemic, pandemic or other natural disaster; impossibility of the use of railways, shipping, aircraft, motor transport or other means of public or private transport; impossibility of the use of public or private telecommunications networks; the acts, decrees, legislation, regulations or restrictions of any government. In such circumstances, the Supplier's policy on cancellations and refunds will apply.
