Refund Policy

This Refund Policy applies to all cruise bookings made through Cruiseline via phone consultation with our reservation specialists. We strive to provide clarity on how refunds are processed.

Please note that Cruiseline primarily acts as an agent for cruise lines and other travel suppliers ("Suppliers"). Therefore, refund policies are largely determined by the terms and conditions of the specific Supplier for your booking. These terms will be communicated to you by our specialists at the time of booking and detailed in your booking confirmation.

1. General Refund Conditions

Refund eligibility is subject to the cancellation policy of the specific Supplier (e.g., cruise line) your booking is with, as well as the fare type (e.g., refundable, non-refundable, promotional) and any specific conditions applicable at the time of your booking. Our Cruiseline cruise specialists will inform you of these specific conditions during your phone booking and in your booking confirmation documentation.

2. Refund Eligibility

  • Supplier Policies Prevail: The refund amount, if any, is determined by the Supplier's cancellation penalties, which are based on how far in advance the cancellation is made relative to the departure date.
  • Full Refunds: Full refunds are rare and typically only available if a cancellation is made very far in advance of the departure date, and only if the fare type explicitly allows for it, often excluding non-refundable deposits or certain promotional fares.
  • Partial Refunds: If a cancellation is made closer to the departure date, a partial refund may be applicable, with significant penalties or fees deducted as stipulated by the Supplier.
  • Non-Refundable Deposits: Many cruise bookings require a non-refundable deposit to secure the reservation. This deposit amount will typically not be refunded in the event of a cancellation by you.
  • Non-Refundable Fares: Some special offers, promotional fares, or "guarantee" cabin bookings may be entirely non-refundable from the moment of booking. Our specialists will clearly state if your chosen fare falls into this category.
  • No-Shows: Guests who do not show up for their scheduled cruise departure (a "no-show") will forfeit the entire cruise cost and will not be eligible for any refund.

3. How to Request a Refund (Due to Cancellation)

To request a cancellation which may result in a refund, you must contact Cruiseline by calling our reservation team at 1-866-453-9023. Please have your booking reference number available.

Our specialists will guide you through the cancellation process, confirm the Supplier's applicable cancellation policy and any associated penalties, and inform you of your potential refund eligibility.

4. Refund Processing

Once a cancellation is processed and a refund is approved by the Supplier and by Cruiseline (if applicable for any of our service fees):

  • Refunds will generally be processed back to the original form of payment used at the time of booking.
  • The time it takes for a refund to appear in your account can vary significantly depending on the Supplier's processing times and your financial institution's policies. This can range from a few business days to several weeks, or even longer in some cases.
  • Cruiseline is not responsible for delays in refund processing caused by Suppliers or financial institutions. We will process our portion of any refund (if applicable) in a timely manner, but the overall timeline is largely dependent on third parties.

5. Cruiseline Service Fees

In addition to Supplier penalties, Cruiseline may charge a non-refundable service fee for processing cancellations or making changes to bookings. This fee, if applicable, will be communicated to you by our specialists.

6. Modifications and Rescheduling

If you wish to modify or reschedule your cruise, this will generally be treated as a cancellation of the original booking and a rebooking of a new one. This means that the Supplier's cancellation penalties for the original booking will apply, and the new booking will be subject to prevailing rates and availability. Our specialists can assist you with this process over the phone.

7. Travel Insurance

Cruiseline strongly recommends purchasing comprehensive travel insurance at the time of booking. Travel insurance can provide coverage for non-refundable trip costs due to cancellations for covered reasons (such as illness, injury, or other unforeseen events as defined by the insurance policy). This can help protect your financial investment.

8. Supplier Cancellations or Significant Itinerary Changes

In the event that a Supplier (e.g., cruise line) cancels a sailing or makes significant changes to an itinerary, the Supplier's policy will dictate the available options, which may include a full or partial refund, a future travel credit, or alternative arrangements. Cruiseline will advocate on your behalf and assist you in understanding and navigating these options as provided by the Supplier.
